Question: What denomination is Sierra Pines?
Answer: Sierra Pines has an historical affiliation with the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana. The Church of God is a movement, and not considered a denomination. Today, Sierra Pines has people of all denominational beliefs. We are probably more non-denominational in our structure. This is reflected in our weekend services, as well as our philosophy and culture.

Question: I'm married and have 2 children. Does Sierra Pines have activities for my entire family?
Answer: Yes! We are a church that places our focus on the entire family. We have programs on Sunday for ages 0-Adult. We have a well trained and caring staff for nursery age children, pre-school, and school age children. Our KIDMO program, for K-6th, is very exciting. We have a Jr. High and Sr. High program on Sunday mornings, as well. We offer adult education classes on a regularly scheduled basis.
During the week, we have programs and activities for both men and women, including Bible studies, scrap-booking, drama, cooking, walking, photography, quilting, guitar, woodworking, choir, stain glass, jewelry making, fishing, and much more.
Question: What programs and activities do you have for men?
Answer: We have several programs for men. We have two weekly Bible studies. One meets on Tuesday mornings at 7:00 am in Oakhurst at Yosemite Roasting Company ("Grind"), one that meets on Wednesday mornings at 7:00 am in Coarsegold at Stoney Creek church. We have a fishing group that meets Mondays at 7:00 pm at the church, the "Gathering" that meets every third Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the church cafe, the men's breakfast that meets every first Saturday at 8:30 am, we have the annual men's retreat in June. Question: I would like to visit Sierra Pines but the thought of coming to church makes me nervous. Honestly, it is a little scary. What should I expect when I visit?
Answer: Well, first of all, your feelings are normal and typical of a person who may not be familiar with church. We understand that. As you enter, you will be greeted and welcomed with a warm, sincere smile and handshake. We hope you will immediately discover that the church is just a group of people, a big family struggling to grow in our faith and helping others to grow, as well. When some people come to Sierra Pines for the first time, they may feel it's too big and too "unavailable" to meet people, make new friends, and get involved in the many programs and activities we offer individuals and families. But that is just an initial feeling. We believe at Sierra Pines you can find that place and those people who will be your friends and to whom you can relate. We welcome you to become part of our church family. In fact, we've been waiting for you!
